Hemp Foods legislation is rejected again!

Hemp Foods legislation is rejected again!

It is with great frustration and disappointment that yet again the Australian health ministers have voted AGAINST changing the legislation that prohibits Australian retailers selling Hemp Foods as a consumable human food.

This is an extremely disappointing outcome for Australian’s as we are one of the last developed countries in the world to allow the sale of hemp seed product’s for human consumption.

This decision is going to have serious impacts on the Australian Hemp Seed Industry and most likely will result in Australian manufactures taking their business and knowledge to countries where Hemp Foods are legal to sell for human consumption.

Further to this, the impact this decision is going to have on the future generations is extremely serious. Essential Fats are ESSENTIAL for a reason. WE DO NTO PRODUCE THEM OURSELVES! Hemp has the highest and most balanced ratio of essential fats in nature, much higher than that of fish oil or the so called super kill oil which still doesn’t even come close to Hemp Seed Oil.

So what does this mean for the future of Australia’s Hemp Seed Industry and the retailers who must continue to break the law to provide the good people of Australia with Hemp Seed products? This now opens the door for us as an industry to bring forward a class action against the Australian Government in the Federal Court based on the evidence that proves Hemp Seed products are more than safe for human consumption. The reason’s given today are absolute nonsense and we as an industry will not be bullied any longer by these thugs in the Australian Government.

This is an extremely sad day for Australia considering how much Hemp was a part of our culture leading up to the 1900’s.

Shame on the Australian Health Ministers!
